During your first appointment at A Nurses Touch Spa, our experienced team will conduct a thorough consultation to understand your specific needs and hair removal goals. We will assess your skin type and hair color to tailor the treatment to your unique profile. We will book several additional treatment appointments at that time. You can expect a comfortable, professional environment where we prioritize your safety and well-being. To prepare for your first treatment after your consultation at A Nurses Touch Spa, follow these simple steps:

For the consultation, you can come with longer hair or stubble so we can see the amount, size, and thickness of the hair.

Before Treatment

4 weeks before treatment

• Avoid all sun exposure on the treatment area for 4 full weeks before your appointment. Sun exposure could cause hyperpigmentation.
• Do not use tanning beds, spray tans, or self-tanners.
• Do not wax, tweeze, thread, or use hair-removal creams.
• Do not bleach the hair.
• Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, and other irritating treatments.

3 days before treatment

Stop using scrubs, exfoliants, retinoids, acids, benzoyl peroxide, and other irritating products on the treatment area.

12–24 hours before treatment

Shave the treatment area with a clean razor.

Day of treatment

• wear comfortbale clothing
• Arrive with clean skin.
• Do not apply lotion, makeup, deodorant, sunscreen, oils, or fragrances to the treatment area.
• Inform your provider about any medications, medical conditions, pregnancy, skin irritation, or recent sun exposure.
• Tattoos and permanent makeup will be covered and will not be treated.

After Treatment

• Avoid all sun exposure on the treated area for 4 full weeks after treatment. You can get hyperpigmentation if you do not avoid sunexposure.
• Do not use tanning beds, spray tans, or self-tanners during this 4-week period.
• Beginning after treatment, apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to the treated area daily for at least 2 weeks. Reapply as directed when outdoors.
• Wear protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses when outside, if area is exposed.
• Mild redness, warmth, or swelling may occur and usually resolves within a few hours to a few days.
• Use cool compresses or aloe vera as needed.
• Avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, strenuous exercise, exfoliating, picking, and irritating products for 24–48 hours.
• Do not wax, tweeze, or thread between treatments. Shaving is allowed.
• Treated hair may shed over the next 1–2 weeks.

The laser hair removal procedure at A Nurses Touch Spa is safe when performed by trained, laser-certified technicians who have achieved the highest level of training the state of Texas offers. Our estheticians, who are also laser techs, hold a Level 4 certification. Most other spas only practice at level 2, leaving patients at risk at other spas in Fort Worth. Most clients experience minimal side effects, such as slight redness or swelling in the treated area, which typically resolves within a few hours. Laser hair removal is safe for all skin colors and effective on most hair types using advanced diode laser technology. However, it's important to note that no laser systems work on white or very blonde hair due to the lack of pigment.
